Over 200 wide-angle confocal laser fundus cameras have been installed in major medical institutions worldwide. Over the past year, from inception to refinement, it has achieved the world's first quantitative analysis of cone cells and blood flow images of retinal lesions obtained through confocal scanning in non-adaptive optics (No-AO) systems, becoming an important reference index for research work. To celebrate the installation of the first wide-angle research imaging platform in Peking University Third Hospital, a ceremony and learning session were held on the afternoon of March 22, in Peking Union Medical College Hospital.
Under the witness of many ophthalmologists on site, Professor Chen Youxin, the Director of the Department of Ophthalmology at Peking University Third Hospital, delivered a speech. Dr. Li Chaohong, the founder of MicroClear, Mr. Xu Haijun, the National Sales Director, Vice Director Zhang Meifen, Vice Director Zhang Shunhua, Professor Yu Weihong, Professor Zhao Chan, Professor Yang Zhikun, and Technician Li Donghui attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Subsequently, Professor Chen Youxin and Director Xu Haijun jointly unveiled the plaque for the training base of the wide-angle imaging platform.
In his speech, Professor Chen Youxin stated that MicroClear's domestically developed first wide-angle confocal laser fundus camera, with the characteristics of "multi-focus, multi-mode, and wide-angle," has not only been recognized by Peking University Third Hospital, but also by many other top-tier hospitals in China. In the current context of the rise of domestic brands, we can not only achieve the technical performance of imported products but also carry out meaningful application explorations in a broader field, helping our research team to expand clinical research thinking, explore more valuable research materials, and improve the efficiency of research results transformation, bringing more hope to patients.
The diagnosis of retinal diseases has officially entered the laser era from the traditional optical era. Laser scanning technology can obtain the best retinal imaging effect with a wider angle, higher quality, and more applications. In order to help doctors efficiently read patients' fundus images and benefit more patients with sophisticated technology, Professor Chen Youxin, the chief editor, and more than 20 editors officially launched the compilation of the "Wide-Angle Laser Fundus Imaging Reading Guide" on-site and conducted in-depth exchanges and interactions on the application of wide-angle confocal technology.
Dr. Li Chaohong combined multiple cases to introduce the unlimited exploration of the wide-angle confocal imaging system in animal experiments. Especially for mice, it can easily obtain layered and multi-angle imaging as well as high-definition display of retinal and choroidal angiography and synchronous angiography. At the same time, Dr. Li systematically analyzed and looked ahead to the latest achievements of his R&D team in the application of confocal technology, including the analysis of cone cells and blood flow. Dr. Li pointed out that through this technology, repeated measurements and tracking of intraocular vessels can be performed for patients with retinal circulation disorders, systemic cardiovascular diseases, etc., achieving early analysis and prediction and formulating clinical assistance diagnosis and treatment plans. This has attracted the attention and praise of many offline and online scientific researchers.
In 2020, MicroClear's wide-angle confocal laser camera was selected for the Excellent Domestic Medical Equipment Product Catalog. In 2022, MicroClear was selected as a supported project of the National Key R&D Program among many ophthalmic equipment brands. It is worth noting that the application of the wide-angle confocal laser imaging system in the medical field has increasingly broad prospects. As a leader in domestic ophthalmic medical equipment, MicroClear will continue to deepen technological research and development, leverage rich practical experience, promote the popularization of eye health screening, and continue to provide advanced and efficient solutions for the medical industry!
